A great friend of Scottish Weightlifting Chris Maitland passed away on the 18th June 2010. He will be sadly missed. Chris was well known for strong man feats. He was Scottish Olympic champion and record holder and he was also a Power lifting champion.The Scottish Masters Open held at the Palace of Arts in Glasgow went very well despite the low number of competitors. Hopefully future Scottish Masters competitions will have more lifters competing. Thanks to Gavin Despard, Neil Jordan and Ryan Coyle for being loaders.Entry forms for the World Masters are to be sent to John McNiven by no later than 11th June 2010.A date for the Weightlifting Scotland AGM has not yet been set. It will appear on the calendar page when it is known.13 Scottish masters lifters competed at the British Masters competition held at Lillieshall on 27th and 28th March 2010. 11 lifters got gold and 2 got silver. Overall a fantastic performance by Scotland. The results can be seen on the RESULTS page.The Scottish Masters competition held at the Palace of Arts in Glasgow on the 7th February 2010 was a great success. There was 1 female and 13 male lifters. The results are on the RESULTS page.
